This is a small easy-to-wear apparatus (the size
of a pager) that continuously monitors cardiac rhythm. Whenever the
person wearing the Cardiac Memo feels a palpitation or possible
heartbeat irregularity, he or she presses a button.

This captures the heart rhythm the minute before
and the minute after the button was pressed. This heart rhythm
information is later transferred to a computer and printer so that
the nature of the arrhythmia can be identified.

Disadvantages of Holter:
Palpitations or heartbeat irregularity must be
felt in order to press the recording button.
