Welcome

Cardiac memo:

(monitoring of arrhythmias or palpitations)

    • This is a small easy-to-wear apparatus (the size of a pager) that continuously monitors cardiac rhythm. Whenever the person wearing the Cardiac Memo feels a palpitation or possible heartbeat irregularity, he or she presses a button.

    • This captures the heart rhythm the minute before and the minute after the button was pressed. This heart rhythm information is later transferred to a computer and printer so that the nature of the arrhythmia can be identified.

Advantages of Holter:

    • can be worn comfortably for 1,2 or several days if necessary

    • Showers permitted

Disadvantages of Holter:

    • Palpitations or heartbeat irregularity must be felt in order to press the recording button.
